Spotlight: Jacqueline Lloyd

You’ve probably noticed by now that we have been fortunate enough to work with some beautiful (inside and out!) women at KYLA JOY. This week, we are pleased to introduce Jacqueline Lloyd, a Los Angeles native with an impressive resume that includes modeling, acting and dancing alongside names like Rihanna, Jason Derulo and Flo Rida.

Childhood ambition: I aspired to do many things as a child. I wanted to be a professional basketball player at one point, but I knew at a young age that I wanted to be successful and enjoy life doing what I loved. Now many of my childhood ambitions have become my reality and today, I enjoy traveling the world as a professional dancer.

Fondest memory: In fourth grade my friends and I were obsessed with The Spice Girls, so when our elementary school put on a talent show we choreographed a full dance routine to “Spice Up Your Life”. I remember rehearsing in the schoolyard and kids would come up to us all the time wanting to learn the dance. And, of course, we would teach them - we WERE The Spice Girls. HA!

Favorite movie: Moonwalker. I’ve loved Michael Jackson since I was in diapers.

Most played song(s) on your iPod:

Sam Sparro – Black and Gold
James Blake - Limit to Your Love
SBTRKT - NEW DORP. NEW YORK (Feat. Ezra Koenig)

Biggest challenge: I’m very hard on myself. I need to learn to take a compliment while still staying humble.

Proudest moment: Dancing as Rihanna’s back up dancer on Eminem & Rihanna’s: The Monster Tour.

Favorite indulgence(s): Thin crust or wood-fired pepperoni pizza. A king-size Kit Kat bar. Haagen-Dazs Dulce de Leche ice cream. #5 Carne Asada burrito from Cactus Taqueria.

Perfect way to spend a day: My perfect day would be hot (90 degrees or hotter) and I’d be at the beach with my husband and some close friends. We’d play volleyball, eat a picnic lunch with sandwiches from Bay Cities Italian deli, swim and body surf in the ocean, and watch the sun set.

Something you learned in the last week: Your mouth can block your blessings. Know when to stop talking.

Recent trip: I recently went to Honolulu for a dance job. On top of working for several days with some amazing people whom I can call good friends, I extended my trip for a week and my husband met me there. We hiked up an inactive volcano, hiked through mud to a waterfall, camped on the beach and snorkeled every day we were there. One of the best work-cations to date!

My life… is a great adventure of peace, love and prosperity.
